My Morning Ritual

Game Changer: My Morning Ritual

Early mornings have become a sacred time for me. #hellosunshine When my alarm goes off at 5:00am, I give myself a few minutes to allow my body to awaken. Then I drink some water.

I change into the workout clothes that I set out the night before, grab my headphones and water bottle, and head out of my bedroom.

The house is dark and quiet and my sweet boys are sound asleep.

I creep down the stairs, skipping the one that creaks.

I open the door to our workout/storage room and get to work. I cycle, run, lift, or stretch for about an hour (sometimes less). You all probably know by now that I am obsessed with my Peloton bike and treadmill. If you’re not familiar, check out this ground breaking company here: https://www.onepeloton.com. I’m happy to answer any questions about their machines! Plus you get $100 off accessories if I refer you ♥️

After my workout, I sit on the floor and listen to 10 minutes of meditation music (see one of my recent posts on 432 Hz music). Lots of deep breaths and soul searching.

By the time I’m done, it’s around 6:30am and I can hear the pitter patter of little feet running around upstairs. I head up to see my husband, au pair, and sons.

I’m ready to take on the day.

I am more patient, happier, and focused. I am refueled.

5:00-6:30am every morning is MY time. As a self-diagnosed introvert, being completely alone is my way to recharge. Being a mama is amazing and helping others is amazing, but it takes a tremendous amount of energy from me.

I have to replenish this energy and give my brain a much needed break.

I didn’t learn this about myself for a long time. I didn’t understand why I was so incredibly drained at the end of every day when I first became a mother and then a mother of two. I didn’t want to keep reaching for that glass of wine to decompress. I knew that wasn’t the right answer for me.

Do you know how difficult it is to wake up feeling like you’re already depleted? I do. It’s so defeating.

This morning ritual has been a true game changer for me. I’ve also changed my nighttime routine as well, which has been equally as impactful. *Let me know if you want me to share this as well!*

Your routine doesn’t have to look like mine. It can be an afternoon or bedtime routine instead. But I encourage you to build this sacred time into your day. See how it changes your mood, your perspective, your health.

Maybe you recharge by journaling, listening to a podcast, taking a bath, etc. Whatever works for YOU, works. Period.
