This is what my new patient said to me when I commended her on starting her health journey with me during a time when most people stop caring. I loved her response!
When it starts getting colder, we bundle ourselves up and stop moving our bodies as much.
We spend less time outdoors and in the gym. We tend to eat and drink WAY more. And many lose focus of their mission and purpose in the midst of holiday madness.
I have already been seeing and hearing, “I just need to get through the holidays and then I’ll focus on my health.” And the creation of New Year’s resolutions begin. Speaking of that, what were your 2019 resolutions? Did you achieve them yet?
We have 57 days left of this year and this decade. 16% of the year left to go. Do you know what you can achieve in 57 days?! Believe me, it’s a lot.
For example, I committed to learning to speak Spanish fluently in 2020. I started yesterday and am committing to just 20 minutes a day of learning Spanish using an app called Duolingo. If I waited until Jan 1st, I would have lost over 19 hours of learning. And in just two days I can say a ton of new words and sentences in spanish already!
Your goals don’t have to cost a lot of money or time as long as you’re willing to put some effort in every single day. Collectively, it will pay off BIG!!
So, If you want to find more balance in your life and move in the direction of your desires, please don’t wait until Jan 1st. And let me share a little secret with you….
You are WAY more likely to achieve your New Year’s goals if you are flying high at the end of the year instead of crashing and burning.
Look at 2020 as a marathon. When January 1st comes, do you want to be at the starting line or already 2 miles in and 15% to the finish line? Start now and don’t stop moving. Keep that momentum going!
