You’re driving one day and your “Check Engine” light comes on. You have multiple appointments to get to. You don’t have time to look into it.
The next day, you turn your car on and annoyingly again, you see the “Check Engine” light glaring back at you. Ugh. You get out of your car, open the hood and check your oil and other miscellaneous things. You can’t SEE anything wrong, so you take a band-aid out of your glovebox and place it over the light and head to your child’s preschool, then the grocery store and dry cleaners, and of course Target.
A week goes by and then you notice when you get into your car that the band-aid fell off and now the “Oil Change” light is lit up too. You get two band-aids from the glovebox and cover both lights.
A month or two goes by and you’re on your way to work and you notice a funny smell coming from your car. “Someone must be burning something outside”, you think to yourself. You keep driving.
On your way home from work, you hear a new clunking noise. “That’s odd”, you say. “I’ll look into it tomorrow”, you promise yourself.
But you don’t look into it. In fact, a year goes by. Your faithful, overworked car finally gives up on your way to your niece’s birthday party. It just stops working.
You have it towed to the mechanic. Unfortunately, too much damage has been done. It can’t be fixed. You have one option….buy a new car. Great.
You see, your body is like your car. Your symptoms are like the dash lights that alert you when something is wrong internally. Medication can be band-aids that we put over those alerts. They may hide them, but they’re still there. One alert (symptom) turns into another and then another. Your body gets louder and louder until you either listen or it gives up on you. And you can try turning the radio up louder and louder but it won’t make a difference. Oh and sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you can’t just buy a new body. You only get one.
I urge you TODAY to stop ignoring your body’s warning signals. They will not magically go away. Those headaches that you’re self-medicating, that pain in your stomach, the sleepless nights. Whatever the symptom is, LISTEN AND LISTEN CLOSELY. And no, your body is not beyond repair. It can be fixed. Don’t give up on it.
Be your own health advocate. Figure out WHY those symptoms exist. What caused the warning signal? Figure that out and fix the source of the issue.
And the best part is, you don’t have to do it alone. Nutrition Response Testing will figure out the underlying issue and I will formulate a protocol to heal it. Simple as that.
