Relax and Get Messy!

I had no idea I was a neat freak until after I had children. Growing up, you could barely tell what color my carpet was in my bedroom due to the mounds of “stuff” on the floor. Sorry Mom!

Now, I’m a Mom of two beautifully messy boys. Karma? Yep.

The truth is that I literally can’t stand food on my kid’s faces, clothes, or hands. I have wipes at my disposal at.all times.

Unfortunately, it seems that I may have passed on this trait to my oldest son. He also doesn’t like to have food on his hands or face. Oops.

I’m trying to let go more and allow my kids to explore and get dirty. It still makes me cringe every single time BUT I think it’s important for them to realize that not everything has to be perfect.

**As I’m typing this, I literally just wiped

off my youngest son’s face after he fell asleep while nursing. Seriously Dana?!**

Ok ok I’m a work in progress. Aren’t we all?

So, if you see my kids with food on their faces or stains on their clothes and I am with them, just know that I am winning the battle in that moment.

And if you see me wiping their faces compulsively, please just turn away and pretend it didn’t happen. K?

Anyone else have a hard time letting messes happen? Do you find it difficult to enjoy the moment when all you want to do is clean it up?

If you’re a mama who embraces messiness, help me!! Please and thank you
