I’m not a fan of many of the diaper creams on the market. If you look at the ingredients, you’ll see harmful ingredients such as parabens and petroleum in many of them.
I actually opted out of diaper cream altogether and used coconut oil (organic/unrefined/extra virgin) for both of my boys.
I bought a big tub from Costco (labeled it “For baby butts only”) and then used a clean spoon to put a little in a clean container to use during diaper changes. I also put a drop or two of lavender in the coconut oil and mixed it up.
When the container would get low, I would clean it out and add more.
PRO TIP: If you use your fingers to apply diaper cream make sure to wash your hands thoroughly beforehand! This will help reduce any bacteria transferring from your hands to baby’s sensitive bottom.
If you want to bypass using your fingers altogether, I highly recommend a bum brush! Find it>> HERE. For under 5 bucks, I think it’s totally worth it!
I’ll be sharing my tips for treating diaper rash soon, so keep your eyes open!
