When you see a bag that says โDried Applesโ, the ingredient list should say โapplesโ only right?

Many dried fruits are loaded with sugar, oils, and/or preservatives.
Letโs take a look at the following brands and compare ingredients:

Apples, canola, sunflower, and/or safflower oil, corn syrup, citric acid, and ascorbic acid

Organic Apples
Plus, the oils in the Seneca brand cause it to contain 9 grams of fat per ounce! The Peeled brand with no oil, contains 0 grams of fat. In addition, the oils listed in the Seneca brand are known to cause inflammation in the body. No bueno.
The additional benefit of the Peeled brand is that itโs organic. Apples are #5 on the Dirty Dozen list in 2019 which means they are found to have a higher amount of pesticide residue than other fruits and vegetables.
